SIC - We Need You
The School Improvement Council (SIC) serves as an advisory committee to the principal and faculty.á Unlike the PTO and other voluntary school organizations, councils are mandated by law to exist in every public school in South Carolina.áá

SIC Key Functions:

1.
áWorkáwith the school to develop and implement a five-year school improvement plan (school renewal plan).
2. Monitor and evaluate success in reaching the plan's goals and objectives.
3.áWrite an annual report to parents about the progress of the plan.
4.áAssist the principal in writing the narrative for the School Report Card.
5.áAdvise on the use of school incentive awards and provide assistance as requested by the principal.

At NAMS we depend on the support of our parents and we believe parents must be involved in the decision-making process.á One way parents can be involved is by being a member of the NAMS School Improvement Council.áá
The School Improvement Council is an elected body that meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 12:00pm-1:00pm.á If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else you believe would be an asset to our team, we are accepting nominationsá through the first week of September.á
